Having known Charlie for over fifteen years, it was such an honour to photograph the day he and Anni legally tied the knot at Chelsea Town Hall, ahead of their larger celebration in Anni’s home country, Germany. The pair have been together for a number of years, and I think it was apparent early on that this was always going to happen. Charlie is the most fun-loving man, with a heart of gold and a knack for leaving a room in tears of laughter. Anni is a charming, elegant, and intelligent woman, and the two complement each other perfectly.

This shoot was a personal one for me. As I do with all my clients, I wanted to document the day as authentically as possible, capturing their personalities in every moment. It was a perfect day for a wedding, sunny and dry, and, from a photographer’s perspective, there were moments when the sun slipped behind the clouds, creating beautifully soft, muted light.

Once the ceremony was over, we walked to a local pub near the Chelsea football ground, where a few locals stopped to congratulate the happy couple. From there, we moved on to The Fox and Pheasant, a pub owned by James Blunt. It was another intimate gathering between two families. I stayed for a short while, and after the speeches, I made my exit.
